Disc Golf: Round Five

Whup Whup! Another fine mess you've gotten us into Ollie...

i love sharing things i like with my friends: good movies, good places to eat, fun games. Disc golf is one. So why is it every friend i take to play dg better than me right out of the gate? i've been playing for weeks now, and i just got my ass handed to me by someone who was playing for the first time EVER! ....meet robert, most current incarnation of this bane of my disc golf existence:

Obviously, boy has played some football in his day...whooshing a disc with attention to direction may not have been his game plan, but he successfully managed to chuck it twice as far as me with half the effort...and wouldn't you know it, by the end of the course, he'd managed to get the direction thing down too. so i guess i say: good job rob. So let's get to it then, shall we?

Let's do this a wee different than last time: first up are my scores, then robert's...

Keep in mind all holes are a Par 3:

Hole 1: +1 Hole 2: 0 Hole 3: +2 Hole 4: +3 Hole 5: +5 Hole 6: +1 Hole 7: 0 Hole 8: +2 Hole 9: +1 Hole 10: +1 Hole 11: +2 Hole 12: +1 Hole 13: +4 Hole 14: +2 Hole 15: +2 Hole 16: +2 Hole 17: +1 Hole 18: +3

Total Over Par: 33

robert's scores...

Keep in mind all holes are a Par 3:

Hole 1: +3 Hole 2: +2 Hole 3: +1 Hole 4: +1 Hole 5: +3 Hole 6: +1 Hole 7: 0 Hole 8: +2 Hole 9: +1 Hole 10: +1 Hole 11: +2 Hole 12: 0 Hole 13: +3 Hole 14: +2 Hole 15: +1 Hole 16: +2 Hole 17: +1 Hole 18: +2

Total Over Par: 27

See how that rat bastard beat me at my own game?! AND he was smug about it! but that's why i like spending time with him, so i won't feign offense any longer. On the up-side, he's already made plans to play again next week, something he most likely would not have done had i kicked his ass. Original plan thwarted, yes, but i'm happy with this outcome.

The trees were only jumping out for him, and i had several great tee offs, including an excellent one off the stout on Hole 18. Had it not been for a key putting error on that last one, i would have shaved off yet another throw off that hole. but hey, i'm not complaining...several guys and a lady with a baby were all over that Hole looking for a lost disc, and that looked like it sucked. we joined the hunt for maybe five minutes, but my, uh, need to visit the ladies' took over and we just played through and wished them luck. Here's the rest:

Comparison to Round Four:

Hole 1: -1 Hole 2: -2 Hole 3: +1 Hole 4: -2 Hole 5: +4 Hole 6: 0 Hole 7: +1 Hole 8: 0 Hole 9: 0 Hole 10: -1 Hole 11: -3 Hole 12: 0 Hole 13: +1 Hole 14: 0 Hole 15: -1 Hole 16: +1 Hole 17: -1 Hole 18: -1

Improved Holes (yay!): 9

No Improvement (oh well): 5

What happened?! Holes (friggin' A!): 4

i did manage to break my streak of improving by only two throws every round, hopefully this will herald in a new era of four at a go. or maybe i'll just be happy that i'm not backsliding. yeah, i think i'll stick to that.

Be the disc.
