Total Over Par: 39
The reason i say awe is that i somehow managed to play what felt like the worst game while still improving my overall score. As you can see, the first nine holes rated quite high on the crap-o-meter. Frankly, the only reason there was any improvement at all is because i didn't make the same stupeed-o mistake of playing stout on Hole 15.
Comparison to Round Two:
Hole 1: +1 Hole 2: -1 Hole 3: +1 Hole 4: +2 Hole 5: +1 Hole 6: -2 Hole 7: 0 Hole 8: +1 Hole 9: -1 Hole 10: +2 Hole 11: 0 Hole 12: 0 Hole 13: 0 Hole 14: +1 Hole 15: -5 Hole 16: 0 Hole 17: -1 Hole 18: -1
Improved Holes (yay!): 6
No Improvement (oh well): 5
What happened?! Holes (friggin' A!): 7
It threatened to rain, it was humid, and yes, i was sweating like a glass of ice tea on a windowsill in late July. My mind was somewhere else. Every throw went high and curved waaaaaaay right. Expletives bounced off the trees as much as the discs. i cooked a Tortino's party pizza for late lunch/early dinner before going to play, and managed to burn my finger getting the darn thing out of the oven. While playing, the blister got bigger and bigger, and became a severe annoyance. Some buzzing bug was whizzing around my head for, no lie, three holes. i was whipping my ponytail around in an effort to be rid of it, then it occurred to me i probably looked like Mr Ed. Mr Ed throwing a plastic round thing at the trees and cursing. Of course. So naturally, i started swatting with my hands instead. In an effort to look less stupid, you understand. yeah, i know.
The thing is, i wanted to stop playing. i wasn't having fun with it today. i was sucking. i was angry and tired and sweaty and uncomfortable and i just wanted to go home. But i didn't. For those of you who know me, you should be gaping right about now. i'm not one to continue what i don't enjoy. especially with games. but although i, as always, kept whacking! the trees with almost every throw, it was actually in my favor that they hit the tree trunks. the disc was getting stopped before becoming lost in the woods, or rolling down the hills, or landing in the creeks. It was eerie. Although i was playing like crap, i was having the best luck i've ever had with disc golf! My fairy godmother shows up for THIS?! Is she the sister of that fat guy in the commercial?

So i kept playing. And i can't explain it. i didn't feel great about it, just puzzled. Kind of the way i'm puzzled that i could play that badly and still be better than i was in my previous games. Go figure.
